Senior Java Backend Engineer
Allerød
·
Hybrid, minimum three days per week in the office
At Cobira, we build and run an IoT connectivity platform that our customers rely on to connect and manage their devices across mobile networks all over the world.
We are currently growing the engineering team, and we are looking for an engineer who wants to help us expand our platform further.
Here, your work does not end at a merged pull request. You are involved all the way: from understanding the business needs, through design, implementation and testing, to deployment, operations and monitoring in production.
What you will work on
The next generation of IoT eSIM, building support for the new GSMA SGP.32 standard, which lets devices switch network profiles remotely, at scale
AI-driven network analysis that spots connectivity issues and anomalies across devices and networks, before customers notice them
Event-driven, distributed systems built on Kafka, processing a continuous stream of events from devices and networks around the world
Clean, well-designed REST APIs (OpenAPI) that our customers build their own products on
Integrations into the core of the mobile world, connecting to telecom operators and IoT device vendors over REST, SOAP and the occasional proprietary protocol
Observability that shows exactly how the platform performs, and backs the SLA and uptime numbers we promise customers
Automated system tests and CI/CD with GitOps, so what you build reaches production quickly and safely
Owning what you build in production too: you will be part of a rolling on-call rotation, so when something critical happens, you are one of the people who knows the system well enough to fix it fast
Our stack: Java, Spring, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Apache Doris, Redis, Docker, Git/GitOps, and AI coding agents as part of the daily workflow.
What we are looking for
You have:
At least 5 years of professional experience building software with Java and Spring
Built, deployed and operated scalable distributed systems
Knowledge of event-driven systems
Fluent Danish and English, spoken and written
You are someone who:
Takes a pragmatic, open-minded approach to solving problems
Gives and receives feedback constructively and wants a say in technical decisions
Enjoys working closely with colleagues and shipping in small, frequent iterations
What we offer
Direct influence on software implementations and technical decisions
Ownership of your work across the entire stack, from development to production
An office in Allerød, within a community of green tech startups and industry partners
Daily lunch at the canteen, gym sessions, and social events like Friday breakfast, Friday bar and the annual Christmas party
The opportunity to work within the IoT space, solving real customer challenges
Flexible office hours, with at least 3 days per week together at our office
Salary based on experience
